Many teachers spend hours a month surfing, so it pays to find ways to speed up your time online. Students also can benefit from a few "speedy" tips, so be sure to try the three tricks below the next time you're on the 'Net.

Crop It
Shorten lengthy Web addresses.

If you use a Web site with an address too long for students (or you!) to remember, you can shorten the URL by following the directions at (http://www.tinyurl.com)

Stop It
Stop lengthy downloads.

If a Web site you want to visit takes way too long to download, you can stop the download by pressing the Escape (Esc) button.

Shopping Tip
AutoComplete saves time spent entering data.

Let Internet Explorer enter your name and address into Web-based forms and invoices. Click Tools>Internet Options>Content>My Profile>OK. Fill out the form and then click OK again. Click AutoComplete and click the circles next to Web Addresses, Forms, and Usernames and Passwords. Click OK twice.
